After saying for 2 years that I want to do a Brazillian wax, I finally went for one on Thursday *claps*
Initially, I made an appointment with Spa Haven BUT after reading some bad comments about it (like how they don’t change the sticks after every application), I canceled my appointment and booked one with Strip instead. Better to stick with the well-known brands even though they might be slightly pricer.

When I told my mum I was going for a wax (I tried to pass it off as a joke), she went, “WHERE GOT PEOPLE SHAVE DOWN THERE ONE? AND YOU ARE EXPOSING YOUR PRIVATES TO STRANGERS?!” In mandarin, of course. I tried to explain a little to her like better hygiene and etc but she still didn’t understand. So we kind of left the topic hanging. She disapproves but as usual, I have my freedom (:
So, I met Mabel on Thursday and she went waited for me while I went in. The place was rather nice but I am surprised by/at/with how small the outlet is O.o It’s like twice of the size of Perlini’s outlet in J8. Quite small.
So I went into the room and was quite impressed with the room deco and lightings. But when the waxing lady came in and switched on the florescent light, I was -.- DARN! The atmosphere, GONE! But I guess it has to be done. We don’t want a sloppy job, yes? The waxing lady was pretty nice and talked to me throughout the process. From my braces to school to post-wax care.
I was most surprised at how PAINLESS it was. Maybe it’s because it’s white chocolate vanilla wax. But it’s not as painful as I’ve expected (: Then again, the lady said I have a pretty high threshold for pain. Hmmm.
Afterwards, I was introduced to a whole range of post-care stuff that are WAY expensive! But I got the X’ed Out cream and the scrub (frigging expensive!). I also signed up for the student package. I ended up $398 lighter than before I went for the wax O.o (Gosh, whenever HAIR is concern, I spend ALOT!)
So yups(: Virgin wax done!
2 items on things to do before I turn 21 and 2 items DONE! Clubbing and waxing! Good job, Shan! (:
