Because we all need a earworm to kickstart the week! Plus, Monday is the only day in the week that starts with M. I’ll try to post non-Kpop songs occasionally
Over the weekend, Channel 5 showed one of my favorite movie, “Fame”. There’s so many good songs that I couldn’t decide which song to put here.
There’s the classic “Fame” song. Love the energy, love the beat, love the lyrics. Then there’s the graduation show, “Hold Your Dream” that holds much meaning(“…you’ll find strength when people bring you down..”). For the slow songs…”Try” by Asher Book. Awesome lyrics. “Out here on my own” is also awesome. It got me a little misty eye yesterday cos my life feels like it sometimes.
So eventually, I decided to introduce this other song by Asher Book. Coincidentally, this came up on my iPod touch early last week and I was playing it non-stop.
There’s a somebody I’m longing to see
I hope that he/she, turns out to be
Someone who’ll watch over me…
Won’t you tell him please to put on some speed
Follow my lead, oh, how I need
Someone to watch over me
And I really like the monologue about success. I think I blogged about it sometime ago. But here it is again –
There’s some things that success is not.
It’s not fame. It’s not money or power.
Success is waking up in the morning so excited about what you have to do.
You literally fly out the door.
It’s getting to work with people you love.
Success is connecting with the world and making people feel.
It’s finding a way to bind together people who have nothing in common but a dream.
It’s falling asleep at night knowing you did the best job you could.
Success is joy and freedom and friendship…and success is love.
If you haven’t watch the movie, WATCH IT!
The next time the musical is in town, I think I am going to catch. Even if I have to go alone (:
