Devotion 26/07/2015

I have been reading Our Daily Bread and using “The Holy Bible” application (highly recommended) to starts plans. I particularly like Rick Warren’s because they are not overly preachy and helps to relate to daily life.

ANYWAYS! Sometimes, I find meaningful words/verses/phrases and I do a screenshot of them. But somehow, an idea struck me today and I thought, “Why not just do a weekly Sunday thing?” Just in case the phone dies and the screenshots disappeared *choy!*

Been a quiet week but not expecting it to be the case for the rest of my 3 weeks. With that said, I am un-un-unbelievably exhausted. My muscles aches like nobody’s business and I am sleeping alot. Not that I am complaining…well, at least for the sleeping part. After having 5 months of insomnia and waking up at 5am every morning, being able to sleep till the alarm rings is a blessing. But just saying that it’s weird. My body is showing symptoms of fever without me actually having one. Hmmm.

Ahwell. FIGHTING! Let the coming week zoom zoom pass smoothly and quickly (:

You can easily feel overwhelmed by all the decisions you need to make daily unless you have confidence in your ability to make right ones. Don’t ever say again, “I have a hard time making decisions,” because when you think and speak like that you are setting yourself up for confusion. Instead, you can believe the next time you need to make a decision that you will hear from God, led by the Holy Spirit and know what to do.
– Power Thoughts Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine; Fill my poor hear with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride; I now surrender, Lord – in me abide. – Orr

Make us brave, Lord, for those who need our courage. Help us to speak for others and show them that You know their hurt and loneliness. – ODB, 24 July 2015

Forgiveness is a process (decide to forgive, bless your enemies, refuse to talk unkindly about them, wait); God gives me the strength to walk it out. – Power Thoughts Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9

God, please give me the strength I need to remain stable in all circumstances.

Devotion 19/07/2015

I have been reading Our Daily Bread and using “The Holy Bible” application (highly recommended) to starts plans. I particularly like Rick Warren’s because they are not overly preachy and helps to relate to daily life.

Finally. For a recruitment that was not right from the beginning. The constant delay, the lack of induction, the extended time taken for background check, the missing probation report. Being told that I am never good enough. The whole process reeked of ikan bilis. Closure is finally coming. I may have given in too early and missed a decent package but my conscience is clear.

With that said, I am taking a significant pay cut to pursue my passion. It’s either going to be the best thing I’ve ever done or the dumbest thing I’ve ever done ;p But it’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was old enough to have aspiration. since I was too young to have an aspiration! Just do it! 😀 And I hate to say this (because my sister so often misuse this), God will provide the abundance soon. I just have to sow the seed (aka work hard!).

As this chapter is winding down to a close, another is starting (: Everything in His time.

Let this coming week pass by smoothly and quickly with wisdom and patience!

Lord, lead me today as You see best. Use the gifts You’ve given me to encourage others on their journey. Help me not to compare with others but to be content. – ODB, 16 July 2014

God tells us that we have an innumerable company of angels who walk with us and watch over you. – Jospeh Prince’s Devotional (this is something I believe in when I was a kid. I imagine an angel beside me :D)

Father, forgive me for my pride and for so often thinking I know best. Give me a humble heart that is willing to follow Your way in everything. Humility is to make a right estimate of one’s self. Charles Spurgeon
– ODB, 18 July 2015

Father, give me the faith of a little child. I want to know Your love and care, and to rest in Your embrace.
– ODB, 15 September 2014

Because He will order His messenger to help you, to protect you wherever you go.- Psalms 91:11

IT CAME! Everything in His time (: If not for the mum who was sleeping behind me, I would have squealed. Haha. But me being me, I’m worrying about silly things. Aye, aye. Enjoy the moment! Let’s not think too far ahead, yes? Heh.

With that said, it was a shocking news. Cold. Unjustified. But, welcome to life, yes? I’ve been told to wait. But I don’t know. Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn’t. Still thinking. Anyways, the coming week should be interesting. Plenty of rest for now! And…Can’t wait for the next episode of MasterChef! I’m liking this season more because GR’s Hell’s Kitchen seeps in occasionally but not too much. Hee.

Praying for patience and wisdom this week!

God is not just interested in the big things that affect us. He bothers and cares about the small things too.
– Joseph Prince’s Devotional

Standing up on the inside does not mean being rebellious or having an aggressive attitude towards those who don’t understand us. It means having a quiet inner confidence that takes us through to the finish line. It is knowing inside that despite what is happening on the outside, everything is going to be alright because God is on the scene, and when He is present, nothing is impossible. – The Confident Woman Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Father. we tend to say too much to our hurting friends. Help us choose our words wisely. Teach us to walk slowly with those in pain, as You walk patiently with us. Sometimes the best way is to sit quietly with a hurting friend.
– ODB, 7 July 2015

God is so strong that there is nothing He cannot do, and He is so loving that there is nothing He will not do for us! – Joseph Prince’s Devotional

Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. – Philippians 4:6

Though I know not what awaits me – What the future has in store, Yet I know that God is faithful, For I’ve proved Him oft before. – Anon

I never quite know how people do it. They can ‘chase’ the latest drama without sacrificing on their sleep.

While following that train of thoughts I realised…I am not anti-social, I just need a lot of me time.

If you know me well, you know it’s extremely hard to get me out of the house on weekends. I think the only person who truly understand why is ber. There was one I told her that I have something on Sunday so I plan to sleep in on Monday (a public holiday) and she very naturally went, “Makes sense. To make up for the lost sleep.” I LOVE YOU, WOMAN!

But yes.

I am not anti-social. If I am truly anti-social, I would skip meeting people to watch dramas. I would have caught up with all my variety shows, have energy to keep track of the crazy world of kpop and ‘chase’ the latest k-drama. No, I need me-time. Or rather just some quiet time. Like quiet time. Away from the noise, the glare of screens and the flashy world of the internet.

It’s the quiet I need.

I need time to catch up on my dramas! ROAR!

STOP CALLING ME, ANTI-SOCIAL!

Devotion 05/07/2015

I have been reading Our Daily Bread and using “The Holy Bible” application (highly recommended) to starts plans. I particularly like Rick Warren’s because they are not overly preachy and helps to relate to daily life.

‘…While the money is good, I don’t have the time or energy to enjoy it. When the weekend comes by, I catch up on my rest and then I tell myself that I will just log in for awhile and make a few tweaks. That few tweaks snowballed into a load more. My wife is a TA and she loves what she’s doing. It really makes me wonder if it’s worth it.” Thank you for sharing this with me, colleague. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. Thank you for being honest with me in all instances (: My first ‘friend’ in the company, who gave me loads of help!

The day is approaching. I’m determined even though I’m nervous. I don’t know why. But yes.
The day is approaching. I know it will come. Just like on Tuesday. God’s promise will be determined again.

Lord, thank You for Your patience with me. I want everything now, but You are building my life with eternity in mind. I don’t understand everything You’re doing but I trust You. Amen. – The Confident Woman Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Let’s not get tired of doing good, because in time, we’ll have a harvest if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9

Guide my conversation today, Lord. May the words I choose bless and encourage others and build them up rather than tear them down. May You be pleased with what You hear. Anger can make us speak our mind when we should be minding our speech. – ODB, 2 July 2015

Too many people are not living their dream because they are living their fears. In other words, instead of doing things out of their heart, they do them because they are afraid of what will happen if they don’t. It is time you started being the person you really want to be. It is time to reach for your dreams. (Timely advice!)

Lord, I will delight myself in You today. You know the desires of my heart, and I entrust my dreams to You. Help me be the person You created me to be. Amen. – The Confident Woman Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Making mistakes is not the end of the world. We can recover from most mistakes. But one of the few mistakes we cannot recover from is the mistake of never being willing to make one in the first place….Do not sit on the sidelines of life wishing you were doing the things you see other people doing.

Lord, I put my trust in You and look forward to moving into new areas of life. I will no longer sit on the sidelines any longer. Amen. – The Confident Woman Devotional, Joyce Meyer

Lord, show me how I can be an encourager of others who might feel they are in a ‘small’ place. Let them know that their lives leave an eternal impact on those they serve. – ODB, 28 June 2015

Lord, You know my heart and your approval is all I need to get through. – Joyce Meyer.
