Super Show 6 Singapore

Waited for 2 months and it’s finally here (: And it was a really nice break for me. I know, there’s been long weekends before but being the person that I am, work is always on me but during the concert, work totally slipped away from my mind. It was just Super Junior and me.

I was screaming so hard that at one point, I think I almost lost my voice. For the first time in a very long time, I threw away my burdens and became the happy, raa-raa girl that I was 😀 I probably became one of those fans that I used to find irritating. Those that scream about anything and everything. Hehe. It was good. It was good.

Security was strict this time so I didn’t dare to sneak shots. But I did manage to get one or two towards the end.

Siwon’s energy was low and he looked horrible during the first part of the concert. But right after he told us that he’s sick, his energy level shot up. He was jumping around and up to his usual antics (: I’m impressed, Mr Choi. Always so professional.

The set list is not too fantastic and they did a “discounted” version in SG. But with Teuk and Heechul back, it’s a much better improvement from SS5. Their ‘tribute’ to Shindong was nice too. I almost teared. They have an empty mic on stage and showed him during his last stage performing. So it really felt like he was there.

And Super Junior being Super Junior, they are up to their usual antics. Throwing away their idol image to make the fans laugh.

Frozen Competition

Riding on the popularity of Frozen, they had a Frozen competition. Henry was Olaf and the host of the competition. Heechul stayed loyal to Anna and came as Anna. There’s Elsapphire Blue (Teuk), Elsamurai (Siwon), El Jackson (Hyuk), Big Elsa (Kyuhyun) and I can’t remember the rest >.<

The preview video was funny (: Siwon acted cute in it and that’s so rare! After saying he is Elsamurai, he knelt on the floor and kicked the chair -.- When the PD asked if kneeling down hurts, he said, “I do not feel pain. Pain doesn’t exist.” or something equally zen. Then he started acting cute for some reason and after that….he started going, “har har!” and pretend to be swinging a sword and punching a person.TOO CUTE.

ANYWAYS! The boys kept teasing each other to speak in English and it was hilarious! But I’m quite shocked that SG ELFs Korean seemed to have deteriorated. Only a few of us replied immediately when the boys asked us questions. Sigh.

SS7 is going to be quite awhile. With Sungmin and Shindong in the army, Hyuk and Hae will be next. Then ‘my oppa’ and Wookie…Then Kyuhyun T_T I will miss the boys! 😦

But it’s okay. WE ARE ELFS. WE WILL WAIT. DON’T FORGET ABOUT SG, SJ and SMEnt!

Oh and this has to be my favorite part of the concert. Siwon sang “Lost Stars” and it blew me away. So full of emotions and I didn’t know he can sing so well. Leaving you with the fancam (thank you thank you to the uploader!) –

Kyuhyun’s Mom House + Cafe

I was compiling the directions on how to get to the various businesses run by either Super Junior and/or their parents and I couldn’t find directions to Kyuhyun’s Mom House until I went to the website.

If you are like me (needs landmarks and pictures), then here’s the directions for you (:

1. Take the train to Myeongdong Station (Line 4).

2. Look for Exit 2 and 3 towards Namsan Park.

3. Stay focused! There will be shops selling merchandise. Keep calm and carry on ;p

4. Keep going towards Exit 2 and 3.

5. When you reach the end, you will have 2 choice – Turn Left for Exit 2 or Turn Right for Exit 3. I know the map says Exit 2 but take Exit 3! There’s escalator! So rare in Korea!

6. Once you are out in the open air, just turn left twice (i.e do a 180 degree turn).

7. Then walk straight. You will pass by Exit 2 and you can see “Mom House” sign amidst the tall buildings.

8. Walk straight and cross the zebra crossing. Constructions ongoing on your right.

9. Walk pass the traffic light and turn right at the zebra crossing and into the lane. Landmark: Hotel Prince.

10. After turning into the lane, you will see “Seoul Namsan Elementary School” at the end of the road. And MOM House will be smiling at you.

11. Walk right in (or run if you must) and you can see Mom House on your right (:

Kyu welcomes you.

I have been there twice. Once to check out the cafe and once to study. Saw Kyu’s mum at the hostel side of the business on the first trip and saw Kyu’s dad on my second trip. Kyu’s dad is so friendly! He greeted us. He sounded so much like Kyu and it was so unexpected that I got shocked and didn’t reply. So rude please!

The cafe is a pretty nice place to study or just chill (: There’s no windows for the most part but you can stone to the SJ related videos that’s constantly playing on the screen. Was rather distracted by the screen when I went there to study ;p

With that said, I haven’t eaten there yet. But the drinks are quite reasonably priced. 4000 won for a cup of vanilla latte. It’s a little on the bitter side. Then again….all coffee is bitter to me ;p I have a sweeeeeeetttt tooth. So yeah. That’s it from me 😀

[Music Monday] Henry – Trap

Because we all need a earworm to kickstart the week! Plus, Monday is the only day in the week that starts with M. I’ll try to post non-Kpop songs occasionally 

Started the dance classes for Trap on Saturday. I’ll be taking 2 classes back-to-back for 2 Saturdays! 미쳤어! But on the (not-so) bright side, Galaxy Supernova is ending this coming Saturday. I can’t feel my legs. My legs are aching! But it’s a good kind of ache. Nothing like workout ache.

Anyways! Back to Trap! It’s the debut song for Super Junior M’s Henry (: Henry has a bit of Justin Bieber feel to be honest. Minus the rude attitude and self-entitlement. He’s really talented too! He plays several instruments, writes songs and dances well!

To lend some star power to his debut, Taemin from SHINee and Kyuhyun from Super Junior took part in the song too. It’s almost like a maknae collaboration ;p

Trap has a hippyty-hoppy-ish kind of feel and is about a guy wanting to forget about a girl. Yawn. Regular music fodder really. But hey! The piano intro at the beginning is awesome and Henry/Taemin/Kyuhyun’s vocals are amazing. Though I won’t recommend you watching the performances with just Henry alone. His voice gets a bit whiney by the time the 4-minute song ends. Honestly, his voice is more suited for acoustic songs. Love love the acoustic version of 1-4-3 (maybe I should introduce that next).

When I signed up for the dance class, I thought it’s gonna be a breeze. Loads of posing, loads of walking around. WRONG. It’s actually my nemesis. Hip-hop-ish, contemporary-ish dance *gasp* The last time I took something like that, I gave up by the 4th lesson. HAHAHA! But I am determined not to give up this time cos….Well, I am unemployed so I need to make my course fee count! ;p

No particular favorite part of the lyrics. I like this song because of the performance and the 3 guys. Lyrics wise…Nah. Not so much.

[Music Monday] Super Junior – It’s You 너라고

I like Super Junior. That’s something that everyone knows. After attending the press conference for Samsung Galaxy S, I was hooked (: Sometimes, when I am in a horrible horrible mood, watching some silly Super Junior variety or their live performances will make things a little better. I don’t know why but it just is (:

너라고 has always been one of my favorite song from Super Junior. It’s about some heart-broken dude singing about their undying love for a girl. Honestly, nothing deep or fancy or meaningful about the lyrics. But I like the beat, the MV and general why everything is presented. And okay, I confess. I like how Siwon walks towards the front during the first lyrics. My heart goes *thump thump* the first time I saw it. Kyyyaaaa~

The performance of this song was HORRIBLE during Super Show 5 Singapore. So when I saw someone posting on allkpop forum (which I NEVER visit) saying that the SS5 Tokyo version of the song was fantastic, I clicked on it and watched with apprehension. I mean, you can’t put it past ELFs. They are die-hard.

So, before I show you the actual MV, take a look at the SS5 Tokyo version. It’s….AWESOME.

With one of the main vocal (Yesung) missing, I think it’s a pretty awesome version. With that said, without Yesung, many of Super Junior’s songs feels a little weird. Like there’s something missing. But Wookie, Kyuhyun and even Sungmin are doing a good job trying to cover his parts. Come back soon, Yesung! Teuk too! The boys need a leader to up the fan service and to organise them! (: Plus, SJ’s songs are different even with one voice missing. The voices of the boys come together quite nicely.
